Quiet marble, clear glass
A dated bathroom in a period building reworked into a light, open room with a marble-effect walk-in shower.

The project
A period room that needed light and space
The bathroom sat beneath a run of original windows but felt dark, with a dated bath, timber-effect flooring and tired tiling.
The clients wanted a calmer, brighter room with a generous shower instead of a bath they rarely used.
We replaced the floor structure where needed, moved services and planned a walk-in shower along the side wall.
Marble-effect porcelain, frameless glass and a wall-hung vanity and toilet keep the room light, open and easy to clean.
Before
Understanding
the starting point
The existing room had a dated bath, timber-effect floor and tiling that made the space feel darker than its windows suggested.

The brief
Light, open and easy
The brief
The brief was a bright, low-maintenance bathroom with a walk-in shower and more usable floor space.
Design direction
We chose bold-veined marble-effect porcelain for the shower, a warm neutral floor and frameless glass to keep sightlines open.
The plan
Every centimetre has a role
The shower runs along the side wall, the vanity sits by the window and wall-hung fittings free up the floor.

The concept
A calm palette with one bold vein
One expressive surface, with everything else kept simple and light.
The build
The detail behind the finish
The work moved from floor structure and services through waterproofing to precise large-format tiling.

The result
A bathroom that lets the light in
The finished room is bright and open, with a walk-in shower that feels generous and a layout that is easy to keep clear.

Project summary
From dark and dated to light and open
The challenge
A dated bath, heavy finishes and poor use of the windows made the room feel dark and smaller than it was.
The clients rarely used the bath and wanted a better shower.
The response
A full renovation with a walk-in shower, new floor structure and services, and wall-hung fittings.
Marble-effect porcelain and frameless glass keep the room light and visually calm.
The result
A bright bathroom with a generous shower and more usable space.
Simple fittings and one expressive surface give the room a quiet, lasting character.
